Coordinator brief biography

P.J. Gamez-Montero obtained his MSc in 1999 and, with a 4 years’ grant, his PhD (2005) in Mechanical Engineering both at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Terrassa-Spain). From 2005 to 2008 he was an Adjunct Lecturer, an Assistant Lecturer and a Temporary Lecturer, and from 2009 to 2020 an Associate Professor. Since 2021 he has been a Full Professor at the above-mentioned university. He teaches in the Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology Engineering and in the Aerospace Technology and Vehicle Engineering, being coordinator of several subjects in those degrees. With regard to his research activities, he specializes in fluid power technology and internal complex flows in fluid power components employing dynamical, numerical and experimental techniques, such as Bond Graph, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Particle Image Velocimetry. In recent years, he has been involved in particular collaborations in the field of mechanics in medicine, porous media and also in acoustics. He is a leading/coordinator researcher of two national competitive research projects, a researcher in three international projects, and an author of more than thirty papers.

Ph.D. Gamez-Montero's research interest includes pedagogic innovation in higher education and he has participated, as a student and as a lecturer, in seminars and projects, publishing the results in journals and international conferences. He also has a passion for engineering education and particularly interested in flipped learning approaches to improve the quality of engineering learning and teaching.
